Art LinkLetter: Kids say the darndest things
I was supposed to post a few nights ago, but didn’t because I didn’t have enough time to figure out how to put up a video clip in my post. So I decided to skip the video clips and just start getting some content back up for now.
I’m back from myriad road trips, and only a little worse for the wear. Hope everyone out there is doing well.
Tonight I was petting the cat, Essie. Selah was opening something she had just seen us open. Sara said “Selah, you’re a smart cookie.”
A minute later, Tessa comes over to me and tries to help pet the cat. “Essie is a smart cookie” she says. Sara and I smile, and I say “no, Essie’s not a smart cookie.”
Tessa says “Essie is a cracker.” Sara and I laugh too loud to correct her.

Oh, how I miss hearing those sweet exchanges! I’m glad you’re recording
and sharing them. They will be just as precious and enjoyable in later
years as they are now
BTW – Tell Tessa that Gpa & Gma Haywood thinks SHE is a smart cookie too!
AND – We miss all of you!

You got that right! The girl has been blowing us away with some of the things she says these days. This last week, she’s figured out “why?” questions. She’s not asking them yet (I can’t wait for that one), but she is answering them as if she has been answering them for years (though it’s only really been a week or so). She also said today “Mommy, let’s talk about school.” Okay…go for it! It’s so exciting to see her not only getting these concepts but communicating them as well. I promise I will update her page tomorrow….she is starting hippotherapy tomorrow, so I’ll have a LOT of updating to do.
