A pretty (hot) tutorial and a question
I need to figure out how to do this sweet magic text effect with Paint Shop Pro. Why Paint Shop Pro? It’s what I have. On that note, does anyone know a decent photo / paint tool on the Mac that’s also “entry” priced? Because I won’t be shelling out the big bucks for Photoshop anytime soon.

Gimp is a free, open-source “photoshop” clone. You’ll need X11 installed to run it, but it works really well.

Depends on what you mean by “entry-level.” I would say Adobe Photoshop Essentials. It’s got most of the features of Photoshop but it’s only $99.

I’ll give Seashore a try on the Mac – hadn’t thought of doing that. Thanks for the suggestion, Matthew.
Kevin – I had a bad impression from Elements a while ago. I made the mistake of brushing Essentials off as something similar – I’ll have to give their low-end line another look.
Thanks guys.
